American Express Blue Cash Everyday - Credit Card Review

American Express offers another simple to understand, no annual fee credit card with its American Express Blue Cash Everyday card. Similar to Chase Freedom, the card offers rewards in different categories for all purchases. The most noticeable being 3% rewards on the first $6,000 of purchases at supermarkets per year. Additionally they offer 2% rewards at gas stations and select department stores; and 1% on all other purchases.

However, unlike Chase Freedom, these categories are constant year-round. You do not have to worry about different quarters and what credit cards to use, as I know that confuses me sometimes when I reach the cashier.

Additionally, AmEx currently offers a $200 sign up bonus if you spend $1000 on the card within the first 3 months of initializing the card. And unlike many other rewards credit cards, this card has no annual fee (meaning you do not have to pay to use their credit card) and these rewards do not expire while the account is active.

I would use this card if your main priority is cash back. AmEx does not offer the same flexibility as Chase Ultimate Rewards in terms of exchanging for points. However, we all shop at supermarkets and 3% rewards is the best consistent offer out there for supermarkets with no annual fee.
